This past Saturday, I spent the whole day with my twelve-year-old daughter while the boys discussed God’s design for marriage that I wrote about last week.
We live in the Santa Cruz mountains, and I drove her over the hill to San Jose; population 900K. We went shopping to several stores and mega mall which we don’t have in our sleepy town.
She and I had a blast! We picked up some clothes and shoes for her as well as ate lunch together.
We talked about anything and everything.
Last night, during our prayers, she thanked God for the fun we had together. Then, she asked my husband, “Dad, we need some Dad and daughter time soon.” It warmed my heart.
Just that small investment meant a lot to her and me. It was time well spent.
Do you spend one on one time with your kids? I’d love to hear about it.
