Annette. Sandi, Me and Pamela
I attended the annual PSWC women’s conference for the third time. It is a funtastic weekend gathering together to worship, learn, eat, play and rest.
Much time was spent around this fire pit eating snacks and sharing stories with one another late into the night.
Pastor Rici Skei
Our retreat speaker was an amazing teacher. She taught us the importance of dwelling with God; taking time to be still before the Lord regularly. I’ll be honest it challenged me, because our busy schedules can keep us from just being still.
AVA and New Day for Children
I also learned the PSWC Covenant Church members are compassionate about helping others. They had representatives there who shared about two organizations they support; one for battered women and the other for children rescued from human trafficking.
In addition, they brought their missionarie from Chile to share what’s happening in South America; especially with displaced citizens fleeing from dangerous towns gripped by drug cartel.
All in all, it was a nice time with girl friends relaxing. And, I didn’t have to cook or clean. Wink. Wink.

I have wanted to join our church women’s conference for years, however, I was unable to due to previous commitments. This year, I attended Hope Stories with two friends Linda in pink and Rachel in the blue pictured above.
We enjoyed a delicious Greek lunch, worship music with Elizabeth Hunnicutt Summers and three inspirational speakers share their story on how God carried them through life.
We gals pour ourselves into our families and sometimes need to rejuvenate. If you have never taken time to refresh with other ladies, I highly recommend it whether its grabbing a cup of coffee, taking a walk or attending a conference together. Enjoy…

This weekend, I attended my second annual women’s retreat at Mission Springs with some lovely lady friends. It was a time of refreshing.
Sometimes as parents, our tanks run empty taking care of our families and homes. I desperately needed some fun, fellowship and good food (minus cooking and cleaning).
Our guest speakers were fabulous a mother-daughter team. The mom was a missionary to Congo, Africa for ten years and shared her extensive experience with us. Her daughter graduated seminary and shared her life with us as well. The worship team was amazing! The food was delicious.
We experienced a miracle as well. Our friend, Linda, joined us during the day and went home at the first night. Around 3:00am her heart went into AFib and her husband informed us at 7:30am by her husband. Immediately, Sandi, Annette and myself prayed for her healing. Later that morning, during worship, I was singing away and felt a nudge at my right side. It was Linda! Praise God her heart returned to its normal rhythm and she rejoined us!
We enjoyed the rest of the conference activities and said our goodbyes Sunday afternoon. I am already looking forward to next year’s get together.
Do you take time for R&R? If so, I’d love to hear the ways you do. Feel free to share with us.
